ABOUT THE DIRECTOR & CAST

LAURE DE CLERMONT-TONNERRE (Director/Writer) Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre is a French actress, producer, and director living between Paris and the United States. After graduating with her Masters of History from La Sorbonne, she moved to New York to study acting. Stepping behind the camera, her first two short films played at major festivals from Tribeca to Tenerife and Bordeaux. Laure developed the latter short, Rabbit which was selected for Sundance in 2015, into her debut feature The Mustang. The first draft of the feature screenplay won the NHK award. She is currently directing the pilot and two additional episodes of Hulu's new anthology series The Act, written by Michelle Dean & Nick Antosca, which is based on the true story explored in the HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest.

MATTHIAS SCHOENAERTS (Roman) is a Flemish actor who began his career on stage as a child playing opposite his father Julien Schoenaerts in The Little Prince. At 15, he made his screen debut in the Academy Award-nominated feature Daens, directed by Stijn Coninx. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in Antwerp, he starred on stage and in award-winning shorts and features.

His supporting role in Paul Verhoeven's Black Book introduced him to a wider European audience. His lead performance in Michael Roskam's Academy Award-nominated Bullhead brought him to the attention of the international film community, as he won accolades including the FIPRESCI Award for Best Actor at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Best Actor Award at Austin Fantastic Fest, and the Acting Award at AFI Fest. He then starred opposite Marion Cotillard in Rust and Bone, directed by Jacques Audiard, for which he won a César Award; reunited with director Michael Roskam for The Drop, with Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, and James Gandolfini; and was part of the ensemble cast of Guillaume Canet's film Blood Ties.

Schoenaerts was then seen in Suite Francaise, with Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas, directed by Saul Dibb; Far from the Madding Crowd, directed by Thomas Vinterberg, opposite Carey Mulligan, based on the Thomas Hardy novel; Luca Guadagnino's A Bigger Splash with Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, and Dakota Johnson; Alice Winocour's Maryland, opposite Diane Kruger; and Tom Hooper's The Danish Girl, with Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander.

In 2017, Schoenaerts starred in the Michael R. Roskam movie Le Fidele, with Adele Exarchopoulos, and in the Ritesh Batra Netflix movie Our Souls at Night, with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. In 2018, he appeared in Red Sparrow, directed by Francis Lawrence with Jennifer Lawrence, and he has a starring role in Terrence Malick's

Radegund, about a conscientious objector who refuses to fight for the Nazis in World War II. He also will star in Thomas Vinterberg's new film Kursk with Colin Firth and in Territoires by David Oelhoffen with Reda Kateb.

JASON MITCHELL (Henry) achieved critical acclaim for his role portraying the iconic Eazy E opposite Paul Giamatti in Universal's 2015 N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary. Mitchell beat out competition from around the country for this coveted role. He won the African American Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor as well as sharing nominations with his fellow cast mates for Best Ensemble at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Critics Association Awards. He received Variety and San Diego International Film Festival's "Rising Star Award" in September 2016 for his work in the film.

Most recently, Mitchell appeared in Dee Rees's Mudbound, the World War II period drama, which received overwhelming praise at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was quickly picked up by Netflix for distribution. In summer 2017, Mitchell was in the Kathryn Bigelow-directed Detroit released by Annapurna Pictures. Mitchell also recently starred in the box-office hit Kong: Skull Island alongside his Compton co-star Corey Hawkins, directed by Jordan Voigt Roberts.

Mitchell can now be seen in his first TV role as a series regular role in Showtime's "The Chi," directed by Emmy-winner Lena Waithe. The timely and distinctive coming-of-age story follows a half dozen interrelated characters in the South Side of Chicago.

Mitchell currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with his two daughters.

BRUCE DERN (Myles) is a two-time Oscar-nominee whose tremendous career is made up of playing both modern-day heroes and legendary villains. Through decades of lauded performances, Dern has acquired the reputation of being one of the most talented and prolific actors of his generation.

Dern recently has completed several high-profile independent film projects, including Chappaquiddick, where he portrays Joe Kennedy, The Peanut Butter Falcon and White Boy Rick opposite Matthew McConaughey. He also stars with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in the Netflix film Our Souls at Night. Other upcoming titles include Class Rank, Warning Shot, Abilene, The Lears, American Dresser and Nostalgia.

In 2015, Dern reteamed with his Django Unchained director Quentin Tarantino for the ambitious and critically-acclaimed The Hateful Eight. In 2013, Dern earned his second Academy Award-nomination for his heralded role in Alexander Payne's Nebraska. That role also garnered him a Best Actor Award from the Cannes Film Festival and the National Board of Review. He was also nominated for a BAFTA, Golden Globe, Independent Spirit Award, Broadcast Film Critics Association Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. Dern was also nominated for an Emmy in 2011 for his portrayal of polygamist patriarch Frank Harlow in HBO's hit drama "Big Love."

A celebrated stage actor, Dern was trained by famed director Elia Kazan at the legendary The Actor's Studio and made his film debut in Kazan's Wild River in 1960. In the '60s, Dern also found success as a distinguished television actor. He appeared regularly in contemporary western TV series, as well as on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents." Hitchcock was such a fan of Dern's that he cast him in Marnie and Family Plot (the director's final film).

Also during the '60s, Dern went on to work with director Roger Corman and appeared in several of his classic and decade-defining films including Wild Angels. He also received critical success during that time for films such as They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and Drive, He Said. Dern goes down in history for his role as Long Hair in The Cowboys, in which he became the only man ever to kill John Wayne on screen.

Dern went on to star in such classic films as The King of Marvin Gardens with Jack Nicholson and Ellen Burstyn, as well as playing Tom Buchanan in The Great Gatsby (for which he received a Golden Globe nomination). It was his brilliant and powerful performance in Hal Ashby's Coming Home that earned him both an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination.

Dern has starred in more than 100 films in his career, including Monster, Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte, Silent Running, Smile, Middle Age Crazy, That Championship Season, Tattoo, The 'Burbs, The Haunting, All the Pretty Horses, Masked and Anonymous, Down in the Valley, Astronaut Farmer, The Cake Eaters, Black Sunday, Madison, Diggstown, Twixt and Last Man Standing.

Dern has received several Lifetime Achievement Awards from various film festivals. In 2010, Dern received the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame star along with his ex-wife Diane Ladd and daughter Laura Dern, the only family in history to receive their Stars in one ceremony.
