ABOUT THE DIRECTOR & CAST

In 2002, KIM NGUYEN wrote and directed his first feature: Le Marais. The film received 6 Jutra nominations including "Best Film" and "Best Director". His second feature, Truffe, won "Best Film" at the Karlovy Vay Fresh Film Festival.

In 2009 he directed La Cite, an international co-production starring Jean Marc Barr. War Witch (Rebelle) has been sold in over 25 territories and has been nominated for "Best foreign language film" at the Oscars in 2013. It was also nominated for "Best international Film" at the 28th Film Independent Spirit Awards. War Witch won the Silver Bear for "best actress" at the Berlinale 2012 and the "Best narrative film" and "best actress" awards at TriBeCa Film Festival.

In 2015, Kim Nguyen directed his first documentary: The Nose and his first English-language film: Two Lovers and a Bear, selected at Cannes' Directors Fortnight in 2016. In 2017, Nguyen saw the release of his film Eye on Juliet that premiered in the section Venice Days at the Venice Mostra. His next title, The Hummingbird Project, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgard, will be released in 2018.

Academy Award Nominee SALMA HAYEK has proven herself as a prolific actress, producer and director, in both film and television. She was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and a BAFTA award for her leading role in Julie Taymor's Frida.

Hayek was most recently seen in the critically-acclaimed, Beatriz At Dinner, in which she starred as the title character for director Miguel Arteta and writer Mike White and for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. She will also star alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgard in the upcoming film, The Hummingbird Project. Other notable projects include the recent Lionsgate/Pantelion comedy How to be a Latin Lover, alongside Eugenio Derbez, Rob Lowe and Kristen Bell, the action comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard with Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds which opened in August, and Drunk Parents with Alec Baldwin.

Hayek devoted herself to another recent passion project as a producer and actor for Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, an animated feature inspired by the book of the same name by the beloved Lebanese artist and poet. She voices a character in the film alongside other talent such as Liam Neeson, John Krasinski, Quvenzhane Wallis, and Alfred Molina. The animated film debuted at Toronto International Film Festival in September 2014 and released domestically on August 7th, 2015.

Noted for her acting career, Hayek has also dedicated much of her time to social activism. Hayek served as spokesperson for the Pampers/UNICEF partnership worldwide, to help stop the spread of life-threatening maternal and neonatal tetanus. She also served as the spokesperson for the Avon Foundation's SPEAK OUT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE program, which focuses on domestic violence education, awareness and prevention, as well as support for victims. Hayek has been on the board of the Kering Foundation since 2009. The foundation aims to combat violence against women, focusing specifically on sexual violence in America, harmful traditional practices in Western Europe and domestic violence in Asia. The foundation also pays specific attention to refugee and migrant women worldwide.

JESSE EISENBERG is an Academy Award nominated actor and an acclaimed playwright and author. Eisenberg's film credits include Roger Dodger, The Squid and the Whale, The Education of Charlie Banks, Adventureland, Zombieland, The Social Network, 30 Minutes or Less, To Rome with Love, Now You See Me, The Double, Night Moves, The End of Tour, American Ultra, Louder Than Bombs, Batman v. Superman, Now You See Me 2, Café Society and Justice League.

Upcoming audiences will see Eisenberg star in The Art of Self-Defense, Vivarium and The Hummingbird Project, which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this fall. Eisenberg has written four plays, including "The Spoils," which recently completed a box office record breaking West End run. He also wrote and starred alongside Vanessa Redgrave in his play "The Revisionist," and in 2011 he wrote and starred in the play "Asuncion" earning a Drama League nomination. His upcoming play, "Yea, Sister!" begins previews in April 2019 at the Signature Theater in New York.

Born in New York, Eisenberg is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and the author of the collection, Bream Gives Me Hiccups from Grove Press. Eisenberg is currently on location shooting Resistance, the story of Marcel Marceau's heroic involvement in the French Resistance in World War II.

ALEXANDER SKARSGARD is one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors on both the big and small screen and maintains a fearless pursuit of challenging roles, evolving with each new project.

Last year Skarsgard won the Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his haunting portrayal of Perry on HBO'S Emmy winning mini-series "Big Little Lies", starring opposite Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.

Skarsgard will next be seen in two projects making their world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival. First, he stars opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Salma Hayek in The Hummingbird Project and Jeremy Saulnier's Hold The Dark which will be released by Netflix on September 28th.

Later this fall, Skarsgard stars in the AMC/BBC event mini-series "The Little Drummer Girl" opposite Michael Shannon and Florence Pugh. And based on John le Carré's best-selling literary masterpiece of the same name. The series will premiere on November 19th.

Next year, Alexander will star opposite Keira Knightley and Jason Clarke in the period drama The Aftermath for Fox Searchlight, which will open April 26th; Flarsky opposite Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen, which Lionsgate will release June 7; and independent film The Kill Team.

Recent credits include Warner Bros' The Legend of Tarzan directed by David Yates; Duncan Jones' Mute opposite Paul Rudd; War On Everyone opposite Michael Pena; the critically acclaimed Sundance hit Diary of a Teenage Girl alongside Kristen Wiig and Bel Powley; Lars Von Trier's Melancholia opposite Kirsten Dunst; What Maisie Knew opposite Julianne Moore; Hidden opposite Andrea Riseborough; Disconnect opposite Jason Bateman; The Giver opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep; The East opposite Brit Marling and Ellen Page; and Universal's Battleship opposite Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna.

Skarsgard's break-through performance was in the critically acclaimed series HBO series "Generation Kill". He later rose to fame as one of the leads in the popular HBO series "True Blood", which finished its successful seven season run in 2014.
