Godzilla started as the personification of the atomic bomb attack on Japan. It is the modern version of the ancient chaos that symbolizes the monstrous horrors that various cultures have had to face. War, hunger, and climate change are the chaos monsters we face. That knowledge may make this so-so film more watchable.
