LUCY
LIU (Sadie) is one
of the busiest actresses working today. Since starring
in the blockbuster hit, “Charlie's Angels,” and its sequel, “Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle,” she has gone from one film to the next, entertaining audiences of all ages. She recently completed production on “Watching the Detectives,” a romantic comedy co-starring Cillian Murphy and will next be seen in “3 Needles.” Other upcoming projects are the animated film “Kung Fu Panda” featuring the voice talents of Dustin Hoffman, Jack Black and Angelina Jolie and “Code Name: The Cleaner” out in January 2007 with Cedric the Entertainer. Liu has also signed on to star in “Beautiful Asian Brides,” a project on which she will double as a producer with Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Ron Howard. The actress’ other film credits include Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies, “Shanghai Noon,” “Payback,” “Play It To The Bone,” and a cameo role in the Oscar-winning film, “Chicago.” Most recently, Liu has been seen in Tony Scott’s “Domino,” and “Lucky Number Slevin,” opposite
Josh Harnett and Ben Kingsley.
Liu
attended NYU and later received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Asian Languages and Cultures from the University
of Michigan. During her senior year at Michigan, she auditioned
for a student theater production of Andre Gregory's adaptation
of "Alice in Wonderland." Hoping to be cast in
a supporting role, Liu was instead cast as the lead. Her
acting career was born.
MICHAEL
CHIKLIS (Detective Rawlins) is recognized
worldwide for his award-winning role as the rogue ‘Detective Vic Mackey,’ in the hit TV series, “The Shield.” He captured the 2002 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and the 2003 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama, becoming the first actor in the history of advertiser-supported cable television to capture both awards. He also won the 2002 Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama. Chiklis has added new dimensions to his repertoire by taking on the role of producer and director when he helmed the episode, “Slipknot.”
Chiklis
has also entertained film-going audiences as ‘Ben Grimm’ also known as ‘The Thing,’ one of Marvel Comics’ most popular and beloved characters in 20th Century Fox’s blockbuster hit, “Fantastic Four.” He is currently in production on the highly anticipated sequel, “Fantastic Four: the Rise of the Silver Surfer.” Some of his other film credits include “The Tax Man” with Joe Pantoliano, “Do Not Disturb,” opposite William Hurt and Jennifer Tilly, and “Body and Soul” with Rod Steiger. When he starred as the ‘victim’ in the short, “Last Request,” a
comedy about a hit man, his victim and a pack of cigarettes,
it was a film festival favorite in 1999, earning accolades
from audiences wherever it played.
A
natural performer, Chiklis began entertaining his family
with celebrity imitations when he was five years old. As
a child, Chiklis appeared in regional theater productions
and earned his Equity card at age 13. He later attended Boston
University School of Performing Arts where he received his
B.F.A. Days after graduation, Chiklis auditioned for the
role of John Belushi in the controversial film “Wired,” a
role that he would eventually earn three years later.
In
1991, Chiklis captured the title role on “The Commish,” which aired on ABC from 1991-1996. Upon the wrap of that show, he starred on Broadway in the one-man show “Defending
the Caveman.”
CARLA
GUGINO (Eve), marks
her third collaboration with writer/director Sebastian
Gutierrez on RISE after having both starred in and produced
the Gutierrez helmed film, “Judas Kiss” with Academy Award winner, Emma Thompson. She will next be seen opposite Ben Stiller and Ricky Gervais in Fox’s “Night at the Museum” which will be released over Holiday 2006. Gugino has recently wrapped Ridley Scott’s “American Gangster” which stars Russell Crowe as well as Scott Frank’s directorial debut, “The Lookout,” starring opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Most recently, the actress appeared in the Robert Rodriguez adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel series, “Sin City,” alongside
Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke.
Other
film credits include all three installments of Robert
Rodriguez's SPY KIDS series, opposite Antonio Banderas; “The Singing Detective,” opposite Robert Downey, Jr., Robin Wright Penn and Jeremy Northam; and the Wayne Wang art house film “The Center of the World,” opposite
Molly Parker and Peter Sarsgaard.
JAMES D’ARCY
(Bishop) first came to the attention
of American audiences for his role opposite Russell Crowe
in Peter Weir’s “Master And Commander: The Far Side of the World.” The talented British thespian has since starred opposite Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek in “An American Haunting,” “Exorcist: The Beginning,” “Dot The I,” “Revelation,” “Guest House Paradiso” and “The Trench.” He
recently starred due for release later this year.
Graduating
from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, D’Arcy is well-known to British audiences for his performance in the title role of “Nicholas Nickleby.” He also appeared in numerous BBC productions, including the hit series “Silent Witness,” “Case Of Evil,” “The Ice House,” “Beck,” “Tom Jones” and “Sunburn,” among
others.
