Congress is pushing a law that would abandon the Internet's First Amendment -- a principle called Network Neutrality that prevents companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast from deciding which Web sites work best for you -- based on what site pays them the most. If the public doesn't speak up now, our elected officials will cave to a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign.

Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling star in the dramatic thriller Fracture. When a meticulous structural engineer (Hopkins) is found innocent of the attempted murder of his wife (Embeth Davidtz), the young district attorney (Gosling) who is prosecuting him becomes a crusader for justice. "Fracture" is packed with twists and turns that weave in and out of the courtroom as the pair try to outwit each other. The film features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn ("Good Night, And Good Luck.") and Rosamund Pike ("Pride & Prejudice"), is directed by Gregory Hoblit ("Primal Fear"), and written by Dan Pyne ("The Sum of All Fears," "The Manchurian Candidate") and Glenn Gers. "Fracture" is scheduled for an April 27, 2007 release. More here
movie news

1. Synopsis
When Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) discovers that his beautiful younger wife,Jennifer (Embeth Davidtz), is having an affair, he plans her murder...the perfect murder.

2. The Genesis
The genesis of a seamless thriller is never simple. Its growth from inspiration to the page to production usually follows a long, circuitous route. Fracture is no different.

3. The Script is the Blueprint
Director Gregory Hoblit is well known for keeping the screenwriter within arm's reach during production, and Gers was no exception, spending months on set with the cast and crew.

4. The Characters
The characters jumped off the page into Hoblit's consciousness, especially the scene in which Crawford and Willy first meet. Crawford has confessed to his wife's murder, and Willy, feeling all the power of his position as an assistant district attorney, questions Crawford believing his case to be a neat slam dunk.

5. Technical Advisor Peter Weireter
The filmmakers also took advantage of technical advisor Peter Weireter, a chief hostage negotiator with the Los Angeles Police Department, and his colleague Sgt. Lou Reyes,

6. Special effects coordinator Lars Anderson
Executive producer Hawk Koch hired special effects coordinator Lars Anderson to build several configurations of Bischoff's designs.

7. Director of Photography Kramer Morgenthau
Hoblit referenced the work of various photographers he's admired throughout the years. An avid fan of Bruce Davidson, whose book Subway made a huge impact on the director, Hoblit pays homage to Davidson's muted backgrounds

8. Shooting in Los Angeles
It was important to the filmmakers to shoot in Los Angeles for a variety of reasons, not only because of proximity to home, but also with the desire to help keep production in Hollywood
